Gordon L Clark DSc FBA is Professor and Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University, he is a Sir Louis Matheson Distinguished Visiting Professor at Monash University’s Department of Banking and Finance, and is also a visiting Professor at Stanford University.
He has held academic appointments at a number of universities including Harvard, Chicago and Carnegie Mellon. Acknowledged as one of the world’s leading authorities on the governance and management of institutional investors his current research focuses on individual decision-making in financial markets and the environmental performance of major corporations.
As an advisor to major companies seeking to change their environmental footprints, he is also interested in the role that financial institutions can play in promoting long-term innovation. Recent publications include the following co-authored books Saving for Retirement (Oxford University Press, 2012), Sovereign Wealth Funds (Princeton University Press, 2013), and the forthcoming Institutional Investors in Global Markets (OUP 2017).
