Stefano Rumi is the Director of Urban Planning at Helena.
With a specific focus on housing affordability and spatial justice, he leads innovative design and development projects to build the cities of tomorrow.
Before Helena, Stefano was an academic advisor to the National Housing Project Foundation. He recently led a national symposium to discuss his work on innovative affordable housing financing, featuring Senators Orrin Hatch and Maria Cantwell, in addition to over 300 national policy and housing experts.
Stefano studied Sociology and Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar and Echols Scholar. His academic lectures include Housing and Urban Poverty, a semester-long undergraduate seminar course he designed and taught at the University of Virginia.
Stefano is a 2017 Clinton Global Initiative U Scholar and a 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of the nation’s highest honors for students.
